About Our Local Office

In 2005, my wife and I were forced to make the most difficult decision of our lives, a decision no family should ever have to make - putting my mother in a nursing home or one of us quitting our job to care for her. 

My mother's first battle with cancer began in 1993 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo a mastectomy.  Following the surgery and chemotherapy, she remained cancer free until 2002 when the cancer metastasized to her lungs and brain.  Following several surgeries and lengthy stays in ICU, she was released from the hospital but had to undergo radiation treatment for many months.  Shortly thereafter, she came to live with us and although it was an adjustment for ourselves and our 4 kids, we managed and everything seemed to be going fine.  However, the brain cancer and radiation treatments left my mother mentally impaired and the dementia eventually got the best of her and us.  It wasn’t long before we were told by her oncologist that she could not be left alone anymore, and that we needed to consider placing her in a nursing home.  Financially, we could not afford to become a single income family and we were not aware of any services to provide trustworthy in-home care during the eight hours a day that we were away at work.  Left with no other option, we placed mom in a nursing home . . . she was only 56 years old.

My mother is our inspiration for opening the first Alabama office of Right at Home.  We understand and appreciate the difficulties that families face in caring for sick and/or elderly family members.  We want to provide you with the peace of mind that comes from knowing your loved ones are safe, healthy, and happy even when you can’t be with them.

The Montgomery Metro Office of Right at Home is a locally owned and operated franchise office of Right at Home Inc., a senior home care and staffing company providing care since 1995. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. We do that by providing high quality in-home caregivers to serve you.
